There are several others, i have medium sized hands and the wide portion was perfect for resting my thumb My 5” prodigy has run 100% except for an old batch of reloads from last year They run through my glocks fine but there isn’t quite enough crimp on them to make the prodigy happy There is an oocassional ftf with these loads

In an effort to optimize the feel of a series 80 1911 pistol i would like to remove the firing pin block and spring components only The ambi safety in this particular gun is ridiculously stubborn,mim made and ,i don't want to risk damage removing it in an attempt to get access to the othe. I was thinking of replacing it with a single sided thumb safety, but before i do i just want to make sure i'm not going to need it Can anyone think of a situation where you would need an ambi safety in competition?
The only reason for an ambi safety is to get safety on and off while the pistol is in your weak hand
